Celution™ Breast Augmentation (transplantation of adipose tissue-derived stem cells) is a procedure for breast augmentation based on regenerative medicine and involves the collection of stem cells from adipose tissue and the injection of those cells, together with adipose tissue, to allow semi-permanent maintenance of breast conditions after injection. Using the patient’s own adipose tissue, the procedure represents a highly safe treatment with no concern for rejection. With a proven track record in liposuction and injection technology, Seishin Regenerative Medicine Center provides Celution™ Breast Augmentation (transplantation of adipose tissue-derived stem cells), a cutting-edge procedure for breast augmentation on the basis of regenerative medicine.
Conventional breast augmentation procedures include fat injection, hyaluronic acid (Sub-Q) injection, and insertion of a bag prosthesis (artificial bag). In breast augmentation by Celution™ Breast Augmentation (transplantation of adipose tissue-derived stem cells), , stem cells collected from the patient’s own adipose are concentrated and re-injected together with the fat. Because transplanted stem cells differentiate into new adipose tissue or vascular endothelial cells, this procedure has the advantages of a much higher fat graft survival (retention rate) and longer survival compared with common fat injection. Because of the use of the patient’s own adipose tissue, this represents a safer treatment with no concern for rejection.
Our clinics also provide a treatment plan for even higher fat graft survival, in which autologous platelet-rich plasma (PRP) collected from the patient’s blood is simultaneously injected.

We achieved 100 cases of Breast Augmentation with ADSC used by Celution™ System. (Dec
2008)
We achieved the most number of cases in the world.
The number of case is based on our quality, and we achieved the best practice safely.

As shown in the colored column, breast augmentation by transplantation of adipose tissue-derived stem cells is a good treatment with many advantages in efficacy and safety. Hyaluronic acid injection with an effective period of 1 to 2 years requires repeated injections to maintain breast conditions and treatment costs in proportion to the number of injections. In contrast, breast augmentation by transplantation of adipose tissue-derived stem cells has a higher graft survival, allows maintenance of post-operative conditions for a long time, and thus represents a cost-effective treatment.
About 80% to 90% of fat injected by transplantation of adipose tissue-derived stem cells is found to survive (in an animal experiment). The conditions stabilize in about two months. The graft survival rate varies among individuals. The graft survival rate in breast augmentation by conventional fat injection ranges from about 30% to 50%, and rejected fat is naturally absorbed into the body.

Breast augmentation by transplantation of adipose tissue-derived stem cells produces a much higher graft survival than conventional fat injection, and this is closely related to the role of adipose tissue-derived stem cells.

Adipocytes are provided with fresh blood and nutrients.

Stem cells grow into adipose tissue and live longer, resulting in a long durability.
Cosmetic Surgery Seishin introduced the Celution™ System developed by Cytori Therapeutics for transplantation of adipose tissue-derived stem cells. This is the world’s first introduction in the field of cosmetic surgery. Clinical application of the Celution™ System has started in many countries around the world, and clinical studies are ongoing in medical institutions in Italy, Spain, and other countries.
Highly purified enzymes are used to effectively and gently separate and aggregate regenerative stem cells present in adipose tissue.
Stable extraction of stem cells is performed by a fully automated, special centrifugation procedure to purify the concentrate for promotion of effective retention.
The Celution™ System is certified under ISO 10993, an international standard for evaluation of the biocompatibility of medical devices.
Liposuction reduces the number of viable stem cells in the suctioned fat. The activity of stem cells after transplantation is also reduced. Thus, fat is gradually absorbed into the body and does not produce a substantial effect for breast augmentation. The Celution™ System allows separation and extraction of stem cells and transplantation of stem cells in better condition to achieve a higher rate of fat graft survival.
Compared with manual operations, the separation and extraction of stem cells with the Celution™ System allows extraction of stem cells with a more consistent purity in a shorter time, ensuring a higher level of activity of stem cells.

Transplantation of adipose tissue-derived stem cells is a treatment in which stem cells are extracted from adipose tissue, concentrated, and re-injected together with injectable fat. Some cosmetic surgery clinics claiming “breast augmentation by transplantation of adipose tissue-derived stem cells” perform breast augmentation together with injection of drugs for fat retention and prevention of necrosis; however, they do not perform cell processing for extraction of stem cells. Thus, their procedures are not sufficient to increase the rate of fat graft survival compared with transplantation of adipose tissue-derived stem cells with the Celution™ System.
Our clinics have additional treatment plan for even higher fat graft survival, in which regenerative medicine technology is applied, and PRP is injected together with adipose tissue-derived stem cells.

PRP is platelet-rich plasma that contains many platelets prepared by highly concentrating platelets present in the patient’s own blood.
Platelets play a role in stopping bleeding and repairing damaged blood vessels and cells in the body. Platelets contain substances called growth factors that activate and rejuvenate cells in the body. The growth factors, when released, induce the generation of new capillaries and substantially increase the graft survival rate of injected fat. Our clinics have started additional treatment plan for even higher fat graft survival, in which regenerative medicine technology is applied and PRP is injected together with adipose tissue-derived stem cells.
Our clinics have already provided PRP-based treatment of wrinkles and acne marks, such asPremium PRP Skin Regeneration TherapyandNew-PRP Skin Regeneration Therapy and apply these technologies to breast augmentation to further increase the rate of fat graft survival.

Breast augmentation by transplantation of adipose tissue-derived stem cells requires advanced techniques of liposuction, extraction of stem cells, and fat injection. In addition to the introduction of the Celution™ System, Cosmetic Surgery Seishin uses its experience, techniques, and expertise to provide quality surgery.
Staffed with an anesthesiologist, Cosmetic Surgery Seishin accommodates all patient requests and develops the best anesthetic plan according to the operative site and area. For breast augmentation by transplantation of adipose tissue-derived stem cells, intravenous anesthesiais used. Because of the short downtime of about 2 hours, hospitalization is not necessary. Depending on the patient’s condition, epidural anesthesia may also be used for a less-stressful, safe operation.

Inappropriate liposuction may be associated with roughness and irregularities at the suction site. Cosmetic Surgery Seishin has the expertise in liposuction to achieve a more beautiful finish using advanced suction techniques on the basis of extensive experience. For fat injection, a dedicated injector and multiple-injection technique are used to evenly inject a small portion at a time. Fat calcification (lump) is unlikely to occur, and thus the procedure is safe.
Aftercare following treatment is an important program essential for the maintenance of a beautiful body line. To satisfy patients with a beautiful finish, Cosmetic Surgery Seishin has comfortable programs, such as the CET (high-frequency thermal treatment) after liposuction and Endermologie (massage with a cellulite-degrading device).
