Celution™ Rejuvenation Therapy (transplantation of adipose tissue-derived stem cells) is a regenerative medicine-based rejuvenation therapy in which fat and adipose tissue-derived stem cells are collected from the abdomen and thighs and injected into wrinkles or depressed areas on the face. The treatment with the patient’s own fat has an excellent safety profile with no concern about allergic reactions.
Rejuvenation therapy by conventional fat injection has a low graft survival of injected fat, and injected foreign materials, such as collagen and hyaluronic acid, are naturally absorbed into the body in about 6 to 12 months. In contrast, 「Celution™ Rejuvenation Therapy (transplantation of adipose tissue-derived stem cells)has a much higher graft survival of injected fat and requires no re-injections because the co-injected adipose tissue-derived stem cells differentiate into new adipose tissue and vascular endothelial cells.
Characterized by very natural finish and touch as well as excellent safety and durability, this is a cutting-edge, anti-aging therapy.
Injected fat is usually incorporated into capillaries and then maintained as local tissue. The other portion of fat is naturally absorbed into the body, and the conditions are stabilized in about one month. The graft survival rate varies among individuals. In conventional rejuvenation by fat injection, about 30% to 50% of injected fat retains, and the other portion is naturally absorbed into the body. In contrast, rejuvenation by transplantation of adipose tissue-derived stem cells achieves graft survival as high as about 80% to 90% by simultaneously injecting stem cells.

The Celution™System is a fully automated device for stem cell extraction developed by US Cytori Therapeutics and is now used in the medical field in several countries around the world. Cosmetic Surgery Seishin is the first in the world to introduce the system for cosmetic purposes and is now the sole user of the system among cosmetic surgery clinics in Japan.

Seishin Regenerative Medicine Center also performs transplantation of adipose tissue-derived stem cells + Premium PRP Injection, a treatment plan in which platelet component (PRP) collected from the patient’s own blood and growth factors are added to adipose tissue-derived stem cells to further increase the fat graft survival rate, promote collagen production in the subcutaneous tissue, and further activate the skin reorganization potential.
PRP (platelet-rich plasma) is plasma containing many platelets prepared by highly concentrating platelets present in the patient’s own blood. Platelets play a role in stopping bleeding and repairing damaged blood vessels and cells in the body. Platelets contain substances called growth factors that activate and rejuvenate cells in the body. The growth factors, when released, are expected to induce generation of new capillaries and substantially increase the graft survival rate of injected fat.
Seishin Regenerative Medicine Center has also been performing Premium PRP Skin Regeneration Therapy, the latest version of platelet therapy, in which PRP fortified with growth factors is injected directly to wrinkles and acne marks. This is an excellent procedure for platelet injection, which is called the next generation filler (injection method) achieved through a joint clinical study between Cosmetic Surgery Seishin and Takeshi Kawazoe, MD. This anti-aging therapy produces greater benefits than conventional collagen or hyaluronic acid injection and has an excellent safety profile because of the use of the patient’s own blood.
In recent years, there is a need for safer, more effective treatment in cosmetic medicine as well, and regenerative medicine-based anti-aging therapy has attracted a great deal of attention. In addition to transplantation of adipose tissue-derived stem cells, representative procedures include injection of platelet components (PRP) collected from the patient’s own blood (autologous platelet-rich plasma) and skin cell rejuvenation by injection of fibroblasts (cells to produce collagen and other proteins) to the affected site, which are prepared by sampling the gum or the skin behind the ear and subsequent long-term culture.
In transplantation of adipose tissue-derived stem cells with the Celution™ System, stem cells are accurately extracted from fat collected from the abdomen or thighs and injected together with injectable fat.
At the injection sites, stem cells produce the unique effects of angiogenesis and differentiate into adipocytes to form adipose tissue, thereby achieving very high rates of fat graft survival and providing sustained benefit. Unlike injection of fibroblasts that requires long-term culture, transplantation of adipose tissue-derived stem cells allows real-time treatment. A series of processes from liposuction to extraction and injection of stem cells are performed during a single clinical visit (about 3 hours), and re-injections are not necessary. In fibroblast injection, injectable sites are limited, and medical costs increase substantially with increasing injection sites. In our procedures, however, about 100 cc of injectable fat (adipose tissue-derived stem cells) is harvested in one fat collection session, and thus costs for one session are sufficient for injection into multiple sites.

* Anti-aging therapy by transplantation of adipose tissue-derived stem cells requires only a small volume (about 200 cc) of fat collected in advance, and the time required for suction is as short as about 30 minutes. Swelling and scars at injection sites become less visible in about one week and gradually disappear over time.
