New Information

A patent for the CelutionTM System was granted.

Recently granted was a US patent for the CelutionSystem, which our clinics use for harvesting stem cells in breast augmentation and anti-aging treatment by transplantation of adipose tissue-derived stem cells.

A patent for the Celution System, a system for harvesting adipose tissue-derived stem cells, was recently granted, which broadly covers applications in the field of plastic surgery and cosmetic surgery. With this patent, in the field of plastic surgery and cosmetic surgery, no modalities other than the Celution System may be used to provide treatment by transplantation of adipose tissue-derived stem cells.

In close cooperation with Cytori Therapeutics, Inc. (San Diego, USA), Cosmetic Surgery Seishin introduced Celution System-based technology for transplantation of adipose tissue-derived stem cells in November 2007, the world’s first introduction for cosmetic purposes.

In three clinics in Tokyo, Osaka, and Fukuoka, we have used the Celution System to perform breast augmentation by transplantation of adipose tissue-derived stem cells in more than 90 patients. Cosmetic Surgery Seishin is determined to contribute to the development of regenerative medicine in the field of cosmetic medicine and help patients live a better life.

CelutionTM System

High-performance system for extraction of adipose tissue-derived stem cells

CelutionTM System This high-performance system for extraction of adipose tissue-derived stem cells developed by Cytori Therapeutics, Inc. has the following advantages over conventional manual extraction of stem cells:

(1) More consistent volume of stem cells extracted
(2) Shorter time needed for extraction
(3) Better conditions of stem cells
(4) Minimal risk of exposure to exogenous infectious agents
(5) Reduction in labor costs
(6) Easier procedures for extraction

The system has been proven safe as evidenced by certification of ISO 10993, CE mark, and FDA approval. (In Japan, the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare accepted notification of the system as a medical device for analysis and testing of stem cells in October 2007.)

Clinical application of the CelutionTM System has started in many countries around the world, and the system is now used clinically in about 22 medical institutions in Germany, Spain, and other countries.

◇ Cytori Therapeutics, Inc., in the United States

Cytori Therapeutics is a global leader in the development of devices for regenerative medicine and has developed the CelutionTM System. Projects for practical application of the CelutionTM System in breast reconstruction and treatment of cardiovascular disease and other disorders are now ongoing primarily in Europe and the United States.
